Everyone needs some time off sometimes and we are no different. About this time of year O Wise One gets the fishing bug. After all man cannot live by gardening alone : ) Spending every day together it also allows each of us a little space from one another. That becomes very necessary for retired couples.
So on a Sunday afternoon you'll see O Wise One alternating between the farm ponds, local lakes and creeks and the river not far from our house. Each offering a little different opportunity. Above are catfish out of the farm pond.
These are catfish and carp out of the Grand River.
And these bass and perch out of a local lake.
And the great part about his Sunday fishing trips is that by the end of the summer I should have a nice stockpile of fish fillets to get me through the winter months. So when O Wise One walks out the door with bait and pole in hand I curl up under the quilt frame or in my easy chair with a good book and enjoy my alone time. Monday morning comes around soon enough and we both are back to the usual responsibilities of the farm. But for one afternoon we take time for ourselves.
