All In A Days Work

Produce is coming in on a daily basis now. Squash and zucchini. Tomatoes and Okra. Apples galore. August is always a busy month with going back to school and school supplies and staying on top of the garden. This year has been no different. Although the harvests are not quite as large I am canning on a daily basis. Alot of times just small batches of this and that but still an all day endeavor.

  2. I came across your site today and love it. My grandmother canned and froze everything like you do. She died when I was young so I have none of her recipes. I just started canned this year with all 4 of my kids grown and gone I have too much time on my hands. My husbands cousin brought so much fresh vegetables and fruit to us this year I had to do something with it. I didn't put up as much as you did. But I was tires afterwards. Peas, Corn, Okra, Jams, syrups, apple pie filling, apple sauce, pears, I think thats it. I always wanted to try wine but never have. My dad and I were going to try watermelon wine but our melons didn't do good this year. and he passed before we had a chance to try it. Culd you share you recipe? Have a grea evening,Samantha in Florida
