ReplyDeleteIt's a toad. When I was taking the daffodil pictures it was in a hole in the flower bed. You can see the mulch around it! Bout scared me to death : )
ReplyDeleteIt's a good photo. You might send it to the Missouri Conservationist. They print interesting photos like this on their back cover asking the question, "What Is It?" Their web site is www.MissouriConservation.org
ReplyDeleteIt blends in pretty good with the mulch! I think it would have made me jump sideways when I saw it too. I've seen too many copperheads laying in holes and under stuff in my time!
