Daily Farm Journal.... First Frost

Woke up this morning to a temperature hovering about 29 degrees and a heavy layer of frost melting in the early fall sunlight. Recording this because next year I will be trying to remember when we had our first frost the following year.  I miss my memory so much : )

Another freeze warning issued for tonight so everything annual growing in the garden will go in the compost next week other than my turnips.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

  5. In Central Arkansas, we had a high on Friday of 84 and by early evening it was hovering around 49 with rain. Our lows have been in the low 40's since Friday night. Not quite time for frost here but North Arkansas has frost and freeze warnings for tonight. Like South Texas, we're loving it!

  7. Here in Mid Mo when I got up at 8:15 there was still frost on the roof. It's predicted again tonight. The furnace was turned on Saturday morning as the grands were here over night.
    Have a great week!

  8. It's 43 right now and down right chilly. Frost tonight if not freezing. Supposed to hit somewhere around 34 tonight but it may get colder than that up here on the mountain top.
