Daily Farm Journal

Friday evening June 29, 2012

Actual temperature today 103....Feels like 113. Supposed to be like this all week. No rain in sight and about a 10 mile an hour hot wind. So what did I do in the garden? Not a darned thing. I stayed inside and quilted. This weather is not fit for man nor beast.

O Wise One spent the day carting water all over the farm for dogs, chickens, rabbits and turkeys.

I got up this morning and baked some muffins and such for snacking on and bought some chips to go with my homemade salsa that I canned last year and some sandwich fixins. Kitchens closed for a few days other than maybe throwing something on the grill. Hard enough to keep a house cool without doing a whole lot of cooking over a hot stove.

Canning is caught up with for a few days so I am lucky there.

Praying for rain!
