Daily Farm Journal

Tuesday night June 26, 2012

Spent from 6:30 to 11:30 am hoeing the north garden. I can again use the hoe although I am not bending much because of my back.

The tomatoes are ripening fast and the red beans are loaded.

Picked 8 heads of broccoli today. Will blanch and freeze tomorrow.

The corn in the south garden has started to put on ears already. Watered today along with the cucumbers.
Row of horticulture beans are up.

Planted another row of Jade green beans for fall.

  2. I just love reading your daily farm journals.

I'm new at this, so forgive me for asking-what are horticulture beans?

    Blessings,

    1. Horticulture beans are white with purple markings that cook down into a thick gravy when cooked.
