Homemade Ornament Ideas

Looking for something quick for those Sunday school kids to make. Little flower pot reindeer fit the bill. Simple and cheap to make even for those little fingers. As I decorated this year I picked out a few ornaments that my kids have made through the years that I thought were both cheap and simple to make.

How about this:  a Styrofoam ball with two pieces of wide wired ribbon brought up over it and tied with raffia. Can't get simpler than that!
My three oldest boys all went to a religious parochial school during the first 9 years of their academic careers. Each of the boys has one of these from the second grade. It has their name and their class and year simply wrote on a fake apple to hang on the tree. A keepsake from the teacher. in expensive, cute and they have held up for almost 30 years.

I have my little apple orchard on my tree every year. Those boys are now in their thirties.

One year I crocheted 50 of these as gifts for my cub scouts and my children's class mates. Each had a candy cane in it and could be hung on the tree.

  2. That's a lot of crocheting! But those kind of ornaments last forever.
