This is the time of the year that we always think of O Wise One's Grandma Edna. Grandma Edna died long before I knew OWO but her memory lives on in The Holler. She I am told was an excellent cook and gardener. We have many things of Edna's including a beautiful Belgian tapestry of the last supper and her porceline doll from childhood and a big Aladdin lamp. And her quilts. One is so neat it was made during the depression and is stuffed with olld hose and stockings. We have many of her plants here in The Holler also that were dug from their home before it passed out of the family. Above are crabapple blossoms from the trees that we dug that had volunteered at her home. They were tiny sprouts when we planted them years ago. We have 3 trees that have survived and last year we got out first crabapples. They have the prettiest blooms of white and a pale pink around the edges. Looks like we should have a good crop this year. If the good lords willin and the creek don't rise!

Wonderful story! It was made extra special because my mother's name was Edna and she had the tapestry, was a wonderful cook and made beautiful quilts.

In this day of "throw away" products .... I think it is wonderful that you have things that have history. What a wonderful thing to have memories associated with so many things in and around your home. This is very special.
