I Am Now Officially Wormed!

Well ladies there is this strange glowing thing in the sky this morning. Oh my can it be the sun? Yes I belive the sun has come home to the Holler. The snow is receding and I actually see patches of grass and is that a robin out there. Oh my!! The down side to all this is that the roads are an absolute quagmire of mud. So if you don't hear from me for a couple days send out a search party because I am lost in the mud. They are forecasting rain on top of the melting snow and flood warnings have already been discussed. I am on high ground but there are many who are not.  I think this will be an interesting spring.

Baby Oops and Fred went to a movie last night. They went and saw Alice in Wonderland. I opted to stay at home as I am not a Tim Burton fan at all.  O Wise One and I stayed at home and feasted on beef and homemade noodles and a buttermilk pie for desert. We both fell asleep in our recliners, with the dogs!

I had to give the dogs their worm medicine for the last two days and gave them their last dose this morning. Riley and Rosie seem to have developed tape worms. Can you imagine that with them eating all those mice they catch! They have an aversion to the taste of the wormer. You guys talk about wrestling goats to milk etc. I have failed my test. OWO tried to hold 12 pounds of black squirming dog. I will only say the dog won I think. I manned the syringe and tried to shoot the medicine down their throat. At the end we had wormer all over me, him the dog and the room. Good news I am now officially wormed.

Do not believe that innocent look! She's a killer !!

The seeds continue to come up and are doing good. I am going to plant some more cabbage today because I ran out and had to buy another pack.

Yesterday I posted on marauding critters and yesterday evening OWO went out to pick up eggs for me and took the demon dogs. While he was in the chicken yard he heard a terrible commotion and went out to find Rosie killing a possum behind the chicken house. I will spare everyone the picture of a dead possum. Rosie was terribly proud of herself and her accomplishments. Riley, the male, was supervising.

  1. Way to go Rosie !! Great job on taking care of that possum!

I can just imagine you all worming the dogs ... I can't quit laughing!

I'm glad to hear that the sunshine made it to your holler. Don't get stuck in the mud!

  2. First ~ I am glad that I won't have to worry about you not being treated for tapeworms. I hear they really prey on noodle eating women of a certain age!!

Second ~ Glad Rosie knows what she is doing as a guard dog. Any farm guard dog has to be able to kill a possum. Maybe she can teach Frankie that task. He is almost 7 years old, but they say you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Third ~ I, too would forgo any movie to stay at home and have beef and noddles and buttermilk pie!!! Smart folks here!! I just had chicken and noodles from your recipe last night.........well they were awesome!! I will be posting all about that story tomorrow!!!!!

Fourth ~ giggle giggle.....we had sunshine here today too!!!! And we have lots of mud but we still have a lot of snow that still has to melt.
