Along For The Ride

Look what is waiting on my deck to go around the base of the oak trees in my new yard. Hosta that originated from O Wise One's Grandma Edna's house.

Straight from the old farm where for those of you that have followed for a long time know that it grew around the old Maple tree in the middle of the driveway. I have enough for a great start and sure hope it likes Tennessee.

And  remember my Mama's  Rugosa Roses. These originated at my home place in Louisiana. They have the greatest smell and the bees love them.

I have 5 bushes in pots on the back deck. O Wise One drove all the way to Missouri and brought them back for me. God I love that man !

  1. The hosta's are beautiful! We don't have an old oak tree but there are others in my yard that would work just as well. Now, I need to start watching the nursery's for sales on hostas. I love the look!

  2. When we moved here, I dug up countless plants and moved them with us! Its great you brought some of your special plants with you! That was so sweet and romantic of your DH!

  3. Wonderful! I am sure the hosta will do well, they grow for my brother in Michigan. I imagine your roses will flourish, too!
I would plant hosta, but the oak trees have such roots. The wild blackberries seem to love them, though.
A blessed week to you both.

  4. Oh I wish I could grown Hostas here. It is way to hot & humid for them. Didn't stop me from trying for several years though. Those all look so healthy. I bet they will do great in Tenn.

    1. I sure hope so. With plenty of large oak trees in the yard I am hoping they will thrive.

  5. Every plant is wonderful. I love plants with a history.

At my other house, before the farm, I knew where every plant came from, called them by the person's name. It's just a pure joy to me to have plants like that.

    1. I think the hardest part of leaving the farm was that I could not dig up every single plant and bring with me.

  6. Isn't it great to be the Princess in O Wise One's life, CQ? I'm sure with your tender loving care, these plants will be happy in their new home, just as you are.
