2013's First Harvest

Spring just kind of slipped right in there while I was busy with other things. I been moaning about it for weeks and it just kind of appeared this morning. Of all the nerve. My doors are wide open and the temperatures are in the 70's.

That new clothes pin bag I made this winter is hanging on the line with my laundry. Just look at that sunshine in that picture. I could just do a little dance.

I took a walk this morning to open the cold frame and picked some lettuce. The first of the season. We'll have salad tonight with boiled farm eggs, pickled beets, cheese and baby green peas from the freezer and homemade garlic cheese croutons. Should go good with my venison, gravy and mashed potatoes.

The daffodils are everywhere basking in the sunshine. The plum trees are always the first of the season to bloom and they are just about ready for the blossom to open up. The rhubarb is just barely breaking the ground but no asparagus yet.

The birds are singing, the turkey gobblers are strutting and all fluffed up. Got the seed potatoes , peas and onions all in the ground and next thing in line is the remaining lettuce transplants, broccoli and cabbage transplants.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Happy Spring : )

Have you considered making clothes pin bags and selling them on your blog? I would buy a couple if you did.
