2013 has started with a new blanket of snow to Hickery Holler. I am hoping it will bring a promise of adequate moisture in the upcoming year. I brought in this new year curled up under warm quilts with a good book with my youngest grandchild sleeping beside me. Life is pretty quiet these days here. Everyone it seems is in the potty training mode. Baby Hank is now two and a half is being potty trained by his parents so grandma and grandpa get to join in the fun when he is around. The goal is to get him trained before the new baby comes in April.
Added to that Moxie and Marlowe were 7 weeks old yesterday. So we are introducing them to outside and trying to potty train them as well.
So it seems our world is revolving around bodily functions these days.
Bitter cold temperatures and snow don't really help matters but we need the moisture badly and will not complain about what form it takes when falling..
The puppies however are convinced this whole potty training in the snow thing is some twisted form of abuse. Absolutely nothing is sadder than a hound dog : )
Blessings from The Holler
The Canned Quilter
Those are two very cute pups. Reminds me of our Labs Hannah & Huey, many many years ago.
ReplyDeleteMy have they grown!:)
ReplyDeleteLike bad weeds in spring : )
DeleteOh my, CQ, your garden fever is showing!!! You've changed your header. I'm quiting today on a 36" hexagon table topper I'm making for a friend and as soon as that is finished, I am sitting down with stack of seed catalogs and dreaming!!
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that with 4 grandchildren and numerous puppies. I think we are done with the potty training. No more grandchildren coming and no more puppies in the house for sure!!!
Happy New Year!!!
Yeah my garden fever is a terrible thing. Almost as bad as quilting fever. Already been dreaming over them catalogs. Me and O Wise One fight over them. Before he met me he was a non gardener now he is hooked.
DeleteAs for quilting I am finishing my scottie quilt top (piecing) and have a og cabin that I am ready to put on the frame. Just waiting on someone to get a spare minute to maybe help me stretch it. Happy New Year to you too!
Gorgeous pups! Looks like you have your hands full.
ReplyDeleteLove your new blog look ! WOW ! Have those two ever grown soo cute , you can see hound dog in them that's for sure with the floppy ears and slight droopy eyes . Happy New Year to you and your family !
ReplyDeleteThank you! You know me I just can't stand not changing it up with the seasons : ) Them dogs are pretty sad lookin and it makes me feel a little guilty making them go out in the cold snow but shoot I sure don't want them piddlin in the house!!
DeleteQuilting weather.
ReplyDeleteWinter is a difficult time for house training for the trainee and the trainer. You certainly have a fine pair there.
oh my gosh, those faces!!!! Puppies and babies, lots of bodily function work right there!! Best wishes on the New Year!
ReplyDeleteSad isn't it!
DeleteCQ,
ReplyDeleteAre you counting down the days to start planting again? Your new header kind of gave it away. I can't wait myself, I have the seeds ready, and I continue to cruise the catalogs.
Moxie and Marlowe are adorable, they've grown up so much. Happy New Year To You, O'Wise One, and Family.
Haha. So true.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm. Hope you all have a blessed New Year!
Happy New Year! The pups are absolutely beautiful! I wish you lots of joy and many blessings in 2013.
ReplyDeleteI love the new picture you put on your header. We live in Utah so there is about a foot of snow on my lawn right now. I am not a snow bunny, and I'm anxiously counting down the days until this white stuff either melts or rots away! :) Your picture made me so excited for spring again. Your puppies are sooooo cute. I showed my son their picture and he loves them too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys got a little more snow than we did--well, some of ours melted before it kicked back in, anyway. Yes, it made for a beautiful New Year's! Blessings in the coming year to you and yours....and your garden!
