Saturday August 4, 2012

The weather forecast called for rain. I think we have gotten about 10 drops so far. The small town we live near has mud puddles. We are so jealous as we don't live 2 miles from the city limits. They say there is a cold front moving through. I tell you what we are about to sweat to death in this cold front.

Spent the day canning tomatoes and potatoes yesterday. Another 8 quarts tomato sauce and 14 quarts new potatoes added to the pantry. I have a large roaster of tomatoes cooking down for more sauce today and I just put my first 18 pints of slices carrots in the canner with another 18 to go in. I guess this is as good of a way to spend a Saturday as any!

Have a great weekend..

  1. That is a blessed way to spend a day.

I'm hoping for rain for you. We got some a few days ago and I am grateful for every drop.

  3. Hot here, too, but we did have a thunderstorm. When they said no rain. Go figure.
Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!
