Lots of melons to deal with this year. I can handle it!
Simply peel those cantaloupe and cube in bite size cubes.
Lay on a baking sheet and allow to freeze overnight.
The next morning place them in freezer bags
Then seal
I add a bag of these frozen to a blender along with yogurt, blackberries and a little honey to make winter smoothies. Yum
You could also let these thaw just a little and eat them as snacks.

ReplyDeleteI did not know that either. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog. I learn something new almost every time. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for such a informative blog. Found your blog back in the spring when I was looking for gardening blogs, and have been reading it ever since.
ReplyDeleteWe had so much cantiloupe this year I thought I would experiment. So I cut it in chucks, flash froze it on trays, then put in bags, and returned to the freezer. When I read your post today I told my husband that I could stop wondering if my experiment would work. If you do your that way I sure it will work. This winter I'm going to try to make some cantiloupe ice cream.
BTW your bacon looks so good I could not stop looking at it. Now that's the way bacon should look.
My but you give me way too much credit but yes it does indeed work. You can also freeze watermelon the same.
DeleteI froze some last year and I ended up with freezer burn. My bags didn't stay sealed. I'm going to check into those bags you mentioned in your other post.
ReplyDeleteBelle does exactly the same thing! Our boys gobble it up in the winter.
ReplyDeleteYou make me hungry, CQ. ;o)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend! ♥
