Daily Farm Journal (garden)

Thursday Evening July 12, 2012

Up before sunrise, threw on laundry and cleaned house as I am expecting Hank for the afternoon to play with grandma and grandpa. Made bread!

O Wise One put down diatomaceous earth in the chicken house and shed we are using as a goat house to combat the fleas the goats seem to have come with. Also dusted goats, chickens and pigs with it.

Goats are now both wormed, banded and treated for fleas. All I have to do now is pick up a block of mineral salt from the feed store.

O Wise one got a new buck rabbit for breeding. No name yet.

Bagged up frozen squash and broccoli that I blanched yesterday as well as 2 tray of frozen enchiladas.

Dinner is a layered potato, cabbage, onion and sausage dish in crockpot.

Rain again! About 1/8 of an inch..

  1. Rain is a wonderful thing right now!
CQ, do you by chance have an enchilada recipe you would like to share? I've been trying to find a good one because my husband loves enchiladas (he was raised up in El Paso). I was raised on the East coast and enchiladas we're not made often.

  3. Your garden is lovely and I am impressed with all of your freezer meals. Where do you get all your energy? You need to take a photo of your green thumb, I need to see what one looks like, LOL. Thanks for sharing. Connie :)
