Here lately the mole patrol has been on full alert. It has been a long winter without critters.
The moles are out in full force and so are the puppies. Not a mole, mouse, rabbit, rat or vole is safe.
Riley even killed a snake out by the chicken yard.
O Wise One and I were in the garden and heard the most awful racket in the shed and the puppies barking and growling to beat the band. It sounded like a herd of grizzlies in our shed. Lo and behold look what they found. Not a dull moment around here.....

We have moles too! Sometimes I have actually seen one of my plants rocking back and forth as one crawled beneath it. The outside cats typically hunt them, and then bring bits and pieces back to me (oh, joy). I love the raccoon photo. Ours are strange, they hang out with the cats so it's not unusual for them to sit on the porch when we are. If we get up, they just move slowly away. We've had to get rid (kill) a few that figured out the chicken coop but mostly they go for dropped bird seed and left over catfood. I think they coyotes keep their numbers to a minimum.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that your dogs can help with so much vermin control.
ReplyDeleteHope you both have a great day!
Hope the puppies didn't wade in on this guy!!! Nothing better than a good farm dog.
ReplyDeleteWas the bandit looking for the chickens? Great dog patrol you have also. I went out one night to close the doors on the chicken coop and came face to face with a racoon as big as a dog..I don't know who was the most shocked, me or the racoon. He was finishing off the last of the cat food..Hope you both have a great day..vera
ReplyDeleteHusband went out late one evening to pick up the eggs and came face to face with a skunk. Boy he backed out of there quick : )
