The Bees

The Bees are out in full force. You can hear a low hum before you even get close to the fruit trees.

We are very fortunate that these little pollinators are plentiful here on the farm. We use very few pesticides and with so many pollen sources  they return the favor by pollinating our crops. I think it also helps that we have hay fields on three sides and forest behind our property. I think without the modern row crops  being sprayed regularly in close proximity the bees remain healthy and the population high. I think it also helps that I plant lots of flowers and herbs that attract them.

How's the bee population on your homestead?
