Leftover Turkey

What do you do with those turkey bones and trimmings. Put them in a pot and add some water, onions and celery and put it on the back of the stove and let it simmer slow for an hour or so and you have the best turkey stock ever. Just cool, strain and can or freeze.Great for turkey and noodles, turkey soup or gumbo.

  1. Great minds think alike! I have a pot on the stove simmering away right now. Thinking about making some turkey and dumplings for supper tonight!

  2. Your blog got me doing that. Thank you!
I use those little 2-cup Ziplock containers. When hubby couldn't sleep the other night, he took one and warmed it up and drank it just like chicken broth. :)
Tomorrow I plan on trying to make cream of turkey soup. :)

  4. Yes, I made the first batch of soup yesterday, turkey rice - with the rest, I'll make the turkey noodle. I just love homemade soups.
