'Will you walk into my parlour?' said the Spider to the Fly,
''Tis the prettiest parlour that ever did you spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show when you are there.'
'Oh no, no,' said the little Fly, 'to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again.'

It is everything I can do to keep someone from squishing it from kids to grandkids.
Even the dogs were after it.
What a week...first snakes and now spiders. Good thing I am made from stern stuff : )

Now that, is an interesting photo of a spider!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these garden spiders. We always protect them. Did you know the egg sacks hatch but the spiders do not emerge until spring? That was a new fact my sister, ever the teacher, told me.
ReplyDeleteI like garden spiders, too. That is a beautiful photo of the spider and egg sack.

Pretty spider!
ReplyDeleteI also had a spider like this on my back porch a couple of years ago, my nephew was terrified of spiders until I showed him how to catch a bug & throw it in the web, he loved to watch her secure the bug for a later meal.
ReplyDeleteGarden spider brought me in and love your blog...
