We all have those moments when we read things and think Wow! Why haven't I seen this before? Or why didn't I think of that? These are my Aaah Posts that I have read in the last weeks......
The Country Blossom's Laundry Basket Dresser. Where was this when I had a house full of kids? Each kid a basket would have been wonderful !
Honeysuckle Jelly ? Remember as a kid picking honeysuckle flowers off those country fences and sucking out that sweet nectar. That just says country and summer. I haven't seen a honeysuckle vine since I left the south. Does honeysuckle grow in the midwest ? Whoever came up with this is a genius !!
And leave it to Tipper at The Blind Pig to remind me of Fermenting Kraut in a jar . Like tipper's Granny my mother in law always made kraut this way and I have always wanted to try it. Think I'll take that cabbage out there in the garden and give this a whirl .....
And last but not least my last Aaah moment comes from a reader. Joanna wrote this about my complaint of steaming leaves for cabbage to make cabbage rolls.
" Freeze the head of cabbage first and then thaw. The leaves will come off nice, soft, and ready to roll! Or chop and make a casserole. Regardless, you can't go wrong with stuffed cabbage!!"
Visited and enjoyed each one...thanks!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, CQ. I often have those moments, too.
ReplyDeleteHave you shared your cabbage roll recipe with us? If so, I need to look back and find it!
Hope you all have a wonderful blessed weekend. ♥
