Ducks in a row?

With the birth of a new grandson I knew he needed a grandma quilt. Fred decorated Baby Hank's room in hunter green and a taupe color. His bumper pads on the baby bed are camouflage. Never guess O Wise One and Hank's father are both hunters. She has duck decoys as decorations. So grandma got in the swing of the theme with this duck decoy quilt : )

I love the camouflage backing. Found the pattern in a 20 year old quilting magazine that I have saved. See there is a method to my madness and a reason for saving all this junk. I did the ducks in different shades of green, burgundy and gold scraps. It's all hand quilted!

Hank will love it!

  2. I'm very impressed! It turned out beautiful. I'm sure he will treasure it for many many years. My kids ( now 29 and 31 ) still treasure the blankets and afgans that grandparents made for them when they were babies and toddlers.

  3. This is such a cute quilt and not using typical baby colors! A little baby hunter-boy.... Fantastic! I am already imagining the games you can play with this one.

I really like the block pattern, not a hard one at all, but very effective! Quilts are such a wonderful gift for a baby. You did a great job.
