Being a mother myself I would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day out there including my own mother. She has been gone for many years now but never forgotten. I miss you always.
I brought a little piece of her with me North. It's one of her roses. It blooms every year for Mother's Day and since it is a Rugosa Rose it seems to always tolerate the cold and snow and even flourish so far from it's southern origins. This year is no exception and even with frost warnings last night and temperatures in the thirties it blooms on in glory.
It has that beautiful rose smell so often missing in the new roses.
Yesterday was a wonderful day. Fred picked me up at 11:00 am and said she had a suprise. She took me out to lunch for my special day. Just her and I and then we went and had a manicure and in true Fred fashion, A PEDICURE !!!!
I feel so pampered. Don't ya like my pink toe nails? Imagine no garden dirt under my nails. No chicken poop on my feet. I even got a haircut this week. Gosh all this dolling up in one week.
O Wise One even noticed!
Oh My
Must have been the shock of not having on ugly garden clothes and boots.
Hope ya have a great day Moms !
