I have lost my garden!
It has been taken over by an alien being known as the great pumpkin of 2010.
It creeps and invades every inch of space it can steal. Meandering along with it's giant leaves and huge yellow flowers.
Baby O and O Wise One are starting to sleep with one eye open.
Look at the size of this stem!
But hidden within the forest of huge leaves and curling vines are these....
Amish Pie Squash
And little black dogs looking for rabbits !!!!
This was another of my experiments for the year. Amish Pie Squash are an heirloom variety that are supposed to be great for pies and freezing. According to available info one of the best. They certainly take alot of room. I certainly hope they taste as good as they grow. But that's a post for another day. The frost shall have to kill the vines before we can even find them.....

Congratulations! Some people can't even get pumpkin to grow this year. Weather, I guess.
ReplyDeleteFrom your title I would guess they are similar to pumpkin?
Look forward to seeing what you think when you eat them. :)
I can almost smell the wonderful pies and breads that you'll make out of these! Congratulations on what looks like will be a great harvest.
