High Canning Season

The actual temperature here yesterday hovered at 106 degrees. I think I will remember this year for the year of extremes. With record snowfall last winter and brutally cold temperatures, violent spring storms and the loss of no less than 4 trees this year to wind and now triple digit temperatures for the third week. I continue to harvest but try to wash and prepare vegetables in the early morning hours to  give my air conditioner a rest. O Wise One spends the day checking on the water for all the animals and keeping them in fresh cool water. One good thing is the grass isn't growing much but I hate to see my electric bill. We just don't venture out to do much in the heat of the day. Us old folks just can't take this heat anymore. Here's a glimpse of what we have been doing.....

Hope everyone out there is staying cool !

  1. What a blessed bounty! If the snow is deep this winter, there will be plenty to eat. Beautiful.
