Farm Neighbors

O Wise One has spent the majority of the week helping a neighbor replace his roof that was damaged earlier this year in a wind storm. In that same storm this same neighbor had a small barn blow down. In exchange for helping with the roof he traded the used lumber and tin out of the damaged barn for O Wise One's labor. What a blessing that it was enough to completely finish all the rafters and completely cover the sides and roof  of the goat barn we are building. Most of the existing lumber that we used was leftover from other projects and we already had it on hand. So we will have a goat shed that has only cost us a little labor and a few nails. What a blessing that we get to save on this much needed new building and the neighbor gets help with his new roof and the debris cleaned up from the storm damaged barn.

O Wise One also found several rolls of free second hand wire for some fencing. We already have plenty of posts. We love it when a plan comes together and are especially thankful for the savings.

  3. Yay! We have several "salvaged" buildings on our farm, too. Currently the kids and I are working on a screen porch for the flower garden~ only $10 invested in screws and nails so far:))

  7. Congratulations!

We've been finding fencing and barbed wire while cleaning out the old pig pen (dumping ground). A lot is not useful, but some of it is and every bit helps.

    Have a blessed Sunday! ♥
