Supper


I love that time of year when that daily question.....What's for supper?... is answered by not what's in the fridge, pantry or freezer. But rather what I can find on my way inside from the gardens.



Today it is the Bok Choy.


Waiting to be washed and cleaned 



Then chopped for the pot.


We'll add some onions, red wine vinegar, garlic and soy sauce. Maybe a tablespoon or two of brown sugar.......


And a couple chopped up chicken breasts to the stir fry and some green peas


And we have a meal.


Along with fried rice, iced tea and a strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert.

  1. I'd like to see a photo of your hands, because I'm positive you have two green thumbs! I never imagined you could grow Bok Choy in Missouri and already be harvesting it.

    1. Just a drop of dish soap and warm water. Sometimes a little vinegar if they are really dirty.

  7. That looks delicious. I grew some for the first time last fall down here in south Louisiana. I can't wait to plant more this fall. I haven't seen any out at the feed stores, guess it's best planted in the fall down here.

  8. How do you make your fried rice? Do you boil rice and then just add it to your stir fry? Just curious. Thanks again!

    1. I boil my rice that morning and drain and put it in the fridge to get cold. Fries so much better when it has set in the fridge overnight or atleast a couple hours. Then fry in oil with peas, onions and soy sauce. Add egg and scramble.
