(the white powder on these plants is a flour/corn starch mixture to help control caterpillars)

Also in a small spot behind the shed we have planted 2 hills of Blacktail Mountain Watermelon and Parmex Baby Ball Carrots in an old compost pile.

It feels good to have both main gardens planted and done with. Now comes the mulching, watering, weeding and fertilizing.

Now I can move on to the pepper and herbs I am tucking into my flower beds and finishing up planting my flowers.

  4. Everything looks so amazing, CQ. :o) Perhaps you could share your garden diagram with us.

Is your smaller garden shaded to help keep the cool weather plants out of the summer sun, or does it not get quite so hot there as Louisiana does in the summer now?
Are the fence circles your tomato plants?

Congratulations. You are certainly an inspiration! :o)
    Have a blessed week!

    1. My smaller garden when we moved here was my original garden as the trees near it have grown in size I have had to continually make this garden smaller so as not to be continually shaded. We use it for cool weather crops because there is some shade. We have summer temperatures in the 90's and occasionally 100+. Just not as early or for as long as Louisiana. Nor do we enjoy the rainfall that Louisiana normally does.

Yes the fence circles are the cages for my tomatoes. Because i grow indeterminate tomatoes they can reach as tall as 12' if I let them. They require large cages to support that weight.

Thanks for stopping by : )
