It became accustomed to a certain hour of activity in the kitchen while getting every one off to work and school. And they taunt my dog something fierce! Hes only caught 2 in the 12 yrs weve lived here but they do have the haven of our 6 ft stockade fence. I put a stop to that with several bird nets over my garden beds. It worked, I even moved my bird feeders further away from the garden.
